@fairphone has officially brought its repairable a @fairphone has officially brought its repairable and sustainably built Android smartphone, the Fairphone Gen 6+, to the US, giving American consumers a new alternative to traditional smartphone models.

The device features 12 modular components that users can replace themselves, including the screen, USB C port and battery. It has a 10 out of 10 repairability rating from iFixit, a five year warranty and software updates through 2033. The Gen 6+ also features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor and 12GB of RAM.

Fairphone says more than half of the phone’s materials are fair trade or recycled. The company has also reported strong growth, with phone shipments increasing by 74% during the first half of 2026 compared with the same period last year.

The US launch marks an important step for Fairphone as it brings longer lasting, repairable technology to a wider audience. Its growing presence could signal a shift towards smartphones that are designed not just for the latest upgrade, but for a longer life.

@ghdhair, has launched Sculpt, a £369 hair straigh @ghdhair, has launched Sculpt, a £369 hair straightener featuring AI-powered Heat-Adapt technology designed to adjust temperature in real time based on how the hair is being styled.

Unlike traditional straighteners that operate at a fixed temperature, Sculpt uses sensors to assess factors including the amount and thickness of hair between the plates, styling speed and angle. The technology is designed to deliver the right level of heat for each section while keeping the maximum temperature at 185°C.

GHD says its laboratory testing found no statistically significant damage to the hair’s internal structure after 300 passes, using curl reversion analysis.

The launch highlights how AI and sensor technology are increasingly moving into everyday personal care devices, with hair styling becoming another area where technology is being used to create more responsive and personalised experiences.

As smart technology continues to move beyond phones, computers and connected homes, GHD Sculpt offers a glimpse of how AI could increasingly become part of the everyday products we use, even in our beauty routines.

@apple has introduced a new Klarna-backed leasing @apple has introduced a new Klarna-backed leasing programme that allows customers to access selected iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple Watches through lower monthly payments. While the scheme makes premium devices appear more affordable, customers will need to consider the difference between leasing and owning.

Available in the United States, Apple Upgrade offers flexible terms between 12 and 36 months, allowing users to return their device, upgrade to a new product or make a final payment to own it outright. The programme replaces previous Apple financing options and expands beyond iPhones to include more of the company’s product range.

The biggest consideration is ownership. Unlike buying a device outright, customers do not automatically own their product at the end of the lease. Those who choose to return their device also miss out on potential resale value, which has traditionally been a benefit of owning Apple products.

@apple is reportedly preparing to enter the smart @apple is reportedly preparing to enter the smart glasses market, with privacy expected to become one of the key features separating its product from rivals. While the company has not officially announced the device, reports suggest Apple could reveal its first smart glasses in 2027.

Rather than competing purely on specifications, Apple is expected to focus on creating a wearable that users and the public can trust. The glasses could include features such as calls, music, notifications and AI-powered assistance, while exploring ways to use cameras and sensors responsibly.

Privacy remains one of the biggest challenges facing smart glasses, particularly when devices can capture information in everyday environments. Apple is reportedly considering safeguards such as limiting recording, avoiding facial recognition and using more on-device processing to keep personal information secure.

The move would place Apple in competition with Meta, which has already introduced smart glasses through its partnership with Ray-Ban. However, Apple’s focus on privacy could become its biggest advantage as the company looks to make wearable AI technology more accepted in daily life.
