Meta’s personal AI agent expands to Mac, giving users greater control over files, messages, calendars and other native applications
Meta has launched Muse for Mac, extending its personal AI agent beyond the mobile app and web version that arrived earlier this month.
The move gives Mac users a new way to use AI directly within their everyday computer environment, with Muse designed to work across files, messages, calendars, notes and mail.
Muse Comes to Mac
Meta says Muse can work with files, Messages, Calendar, Notes and Mail within their native Mac applications.
Rather than keeping tasks within a dedicated AI chat window, the agent is designed to work with the information and applications users already rely on, helping them complete tasks directly from their computer.
Users Choose What Muse Can Access
Access to Muse is opt in, with users able to decide which applications and information the agent can reach.
Meta says Muse also asks for approval before carrying out sensitive actions, giving users greater control over what the agent is able to do on their behalf.
Voice Calling Expands the Experience
The Mac launch comes as Meta also rolls out voice calling for Muse, adding another way for users to interact with the personal AI agent.
The latest update forms part of Meta’s wider push into consumer AI agents, as technology companies increasingly develop systems designed to take action rather than simply respond to prompts.
Meta Moves Further Into Personal AI
Muse for Mac follows the mobile and web launch earlier this month, with Meta continuing to expand the service across platforms.
Mark Zuckerberg has highlighted the speed at which the team is developing Muse, while the service has also climbed the US App Store charts following its initial launch.
